Super Simple Chocolate Coffee Cake

This chocolate coffee cake is quick and easy to whip up, super moist, and great for guests who pop in. Also, you will find you will normally have all the ingredients you need.

Chocolate Coffee Cake

You Will Need:

2 cups of Flour

1/4 cup Cocoa Powder

1 cup Sugar

1 1/2 tsp Baking Powder

1/4 tsp Salt

1 tsp Instant Coffee Granules

1 cup Warm Water

1/2 cup Vegetable Oil

2 tsp Vanilla Essence

1 tsp White Vinegar

DalgonaTopping:

1/4 cup Instant Coffee Granules

1/4 cup Sugar

1/4 cup Hot Water

Method:

In a jug or mixing bowl mix together the flour, cocoa, sugar, baking powder, salt, and coffee. Then sift it.

Add the water, oil, vanilla, and vinegar. Mix well with a whisk.

Pour the mixture into an 8″ pan that has been lined with baking paper.

Smooth the mixture out so that it is nice and even and then bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees celsius for 30 – 35 minutes.

Let the cake cool completely before adding the topping.

Dalgona Topping:

Mix the sugar and coffee in a bowl. Add the hot water and use an electric mixer to whip until it is light and fluffy. It will increase at least fourfold. Only make the topping when you are ready to serve the cake.

Spread the topping thickly over the cake and enjoy.
